Art has the power to heal – and I’m honored that two of my pieces are now part of the UW Health’s permanent collection, installed at the Carbone Infusion Center inside UW’s East Park Medical Center. Knowing that my work might offer a moment of calm or reflection during a difficult time – that’s why I make art. Heartfelt thanks to Mandy Kron, who manages art procurement and collections for UW Health, and to Margaret LeMay, founder and president of Integrated Art Group, for making this possible. Touring the space today and seeing many of the 1,200 original works procured specifically for this new facility – many by artists I know and admire – reminds me just how vital art can be. A good day to be an artist indeed.
