Gallery: Impressionism

“Impressionism means taking inspiration directly from nature, trusting your senses rather than what you think you know.” (Michael McClure)

The romance, the elegance and the colors of impressionism.  I am moved by the work of the French impressionist from the late 1800s  – and those that came later – and strive to capture their spirit in my timestacking photographs; where the essence of the images are not defined with crisp focus and precise shapes; but rather the softness and core of the subject.  This allows the lifeblood of my subjects – prairies, waterfalls, waterlilies, flowers, glaciers – to be captured and presented in a wonderful, creative and imaginative way.  Don’t get caught up in the details, let the image wash over you.
